About Us
Hi, I’m Rosie — dancer, wife, and mum to one wild and amazing toddler.
Before Birds Nest, I ran a business with my family and taught at science festivals from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi. I’m also a passionate blues dancer and have been competing and teaching internationally for 8 years.
My Nashville-born husband Marshal is an engineer and project manager with a background in construction and risk assessment, so he’s been incredible at building the space and bringing my ideas to life. He’s also the guy making sure everything’s as safe as it can be for our little ones, while allowing enough room for risk — as is the Forest School way.
Together, we created Birds Nest Forest Club.

During the pandemic I decided I'd like to spend the first three years of my daughters life at home with her.
I’m two years into those three years now and boy, it’s been hard. I somehow believed there’d be a village? We’ve all heard of the magical “village” that will support us when we have a baby. Yet I don’t know where these villages are and hardly anyone I know with a child found theirs.
I went to all the baby classes and found nothing was setup to actually spark proper friendships. At most classes nobody talked, you never got anyone’s name or even less likely a number. And don’t get me started on the Peanut app…
I’m known in my friendship circles as a social butterfly, I have many friends, yet motherhood has always been lonely.
My mission here at Birds Nest is to make it less lonely. I want to help you find your people. I want to run sessions specifically for making friends, as parents, not for the kids..they can make friends no bother! Heck, my child befriends any spider she sees.
You know when you’re introduced to your friend’s friend and you instantly feel you’re already friends, because you have this person in common? I’ll be that friend. Birds Nest can be your thing in common. Hey we’re all out here in the woods, we’ve got to have similar interests! When you meet someone great and never see them again, ask me to put you in touch.
We all need community, we all want to find our people.
Let’s build that village, together.

I want a nature program that is:
🦋 FUN — most of all, I want my child to have a blast and be a carefree kid.
🌦️ NOURISHING — with a brilliant range of activities to stimulate creativity, self-worth, problem-solving, and more.
🐌 LAID-BACK — so kids can be messy and free and unleash their wild sides.
🌳 CHALLENGING — with different ways for children to push themselves outside their comfort zones.
🍄 SUSTAINABLE — with secondhand toys, repurposed furniture, and natural materials that truly embody the idea of using what the Earth provides.
🪺 SAFE — the Forest School ethos is all about taking risks (which I love) but I want to do it in a controlled way.
🌈 INCLUSIVE — with children of different ages, needs, and abilities sharing the same space.
🦉 EASY — easy to book and easy to fit in our schedule.
I knew the only way to find this kind of nature experience was to create it myself.
And Birds Nest Forest Club was born.
If you’ve got a kid who loves to stomp around outside, let their imagination run wild, and climb things you didn’t know were possible…
And if you want an activity that makes YOU feel happy and refreshed, too…
We’d love to welcome you to our little spot in the woods. 🤗 You can sign up for a one-off class so there’s no big risk or long-term commitment.
Why not join us for your first session (and a cuppa!) and see how you and your little one like it? Book here.
Oh, and if you have any questions or need anything, you can always find me at hello@birdsnestforestclub.co.uk or message me here or on Facebook/Instagram.
